Haiku
by Anita Loughrey
|
|
Growth
Reach toward sunlight
Leaves uncurling, flex and twist
Wild shoots stretch upward
|
|
Tanka by Anita Loughrey
|
|
Growth
Skin taught, stretching tight
Red hot, burning sensation
Struggling and kicking,
Wriggling pure creation
New life waiting to burst forth

Haiku No 1
Bread and butter pud
Ding! And it’s done in micro
Wave of nostalgia.
Haiku No 2
Is “un oeuf” enough?
Does … er … “deux oeufs” satisfy?
Uncertain breakfast.
(“deux oeufs” is pronounced “does..er”!)
Haiku No 3
Hard to write haiku.
Limerick keep coming out.
Incompatible!

Haiku #1
This Haiku is mine.
Haikus do not have to rhyme;
just keep Haiku time.
Haiku #2
It's gone ten-to-eight.
In half an hour I'll be late.
Quick, don't hesitate.
